A New-Build Home in Queen Creek, Furnished for Move-In Day
An out-of-state designer called in June about a November move-in. Five months later, 234 pieces went into a new home in Queen Creek, Arizona, in the month she had planned.
Case StudiesThe best installs are planned backward from a date. In June 2025 a designer based outside Arizona contacted us about a client's new-build home in Queen Creek. Furniture would be ordered over July and August, and the family would move in during November. That gave everyone five months and one fixed point. In the first week of November, 234 pieces went into the house.

A date set in June
A new build is a moving target. The finish date can shift, and a house that is still being completed is no place to leave a sofa. So the plan started from the one date that mattered to the family, the move-in, and worked backward. The designer would place her orders through the summer, the vendors would ship to our warehouse rather than to the house, and everything would wait there until the home was ready for it.
For a designer working from another state, that matters twice over. She could not stop by the site to sign for a delivery or check on a carton, so the warehouse had to do that job for her.
Onboarding before the first carton
At the end of September, before the vendors started shipping, the designer was introduced to the people who would handle the project: an account manager as her main contact, the warehouse and inventory team, and the scheduler who would book the install days. She knew who to call for each question before anything had arrived.
We then received each vendor shipment under the project's own name, photographed it on arrival and checked it against the list she sent us. Any carton that arrives damaged is reported to the designer before it goes into storage, and she decides whether we open it. Opening and inspecting pieces is done on request.
When the designer is not local, the warehouse inventory is her view of the project. Each arrival was logged under the project, so she could follow the house filling up from another state.

Install week
The install ran from November 3 to 6. The crew brought each piece from storage in Tempe, carried it into the room the designer had planned, unpacked it, assembled it where needed and placed it to her plan. Bed frames went together in the bedrooms.
The finished rooms included:
- Dining: an oval wood table with six woven sculptural chairs on a large rug, an olive tree in the corner and a tall painted canvas behind it.
- Living room: two curved cream sofas facing each other across a gray rug, with brown throws, a black stump side table and a large abstract canvas above.
- Seating area: a pair of gray boucle swivel chairs with marble nesting tables between them.
- Console wall: a dark oak console under a black wavy mirror, with a mushroom lamp and a runner along the hall.
- A second sitting room: a round cream ottoman on a striped rug, a brass floor lamp and two large abstract canvases hung side by side.
The scope included hanging 16 pieces of art, from single canvases to the matched pair in the sitting room. As each room was finished, the boxes, blankets and wrapping left with the crew, and the room was ready for the family to move in.

What made it work
- A date, agreed five months out. Every decision after that served it.
- A named team. The designer knew who to call for inventory and scheduling before anything shipped.
- One warehouse. Vendors shipped to Tempe, not to the new house, and nothing went to the home until install week.
- One install window. Four days, booked ahead, instead of deliveries trickling in as vendors shipped.
Our page for interior designers explains how receiving and installation work for the trade. Our installation service covers assembly and art hanging, the white glove delivery page covers the delivery itself, and what white glove delivery includes lists each step.
