Do You Tip Furniture Delivery People? How Much and When
Yes, tipping furniture delivery people is a common courtesy: $5 to $20 each is typical, and $20 or more each for white glove delivery with assembly. It is optional. Our crews accept tips and we have no tipping policy, so you can tip the crew directly or tell us and we can pass it on.
What to tip at a glance
| Kind of delivery | Typical tip, per person |
|---|---|
| Standard drop-off | $5 to $10 |
| Heavy pieces, stairs or tight access | $10 to $20 |
| White glove: placement, assembly, installation | $20 or more |
When to tip more
Go higher when the crew carries pieces up stairs or through narrow doorways, handles fragile or oversized furniture, builds what you ordered, or protects your floors and walls along the way. Hand the tip over when the job is finished, which is also when the crew asks how it went. If there is more than one person on the crew, say who it is for, or hand it to whoever is leading and ask that it be shared.
How tips work with our crews
Here is how it works on our deliveries. Our crews accept tips. There is no company tipping policy and no set amount, so the choice and the size are yours. You can hand a tip to the crew at the end, or tell us afterward and we can pass it on. We text you about 30 minutes before the crew arrives, and when the delivery is finished you are asked for your feedback in person, so anything that went wrong can be raised while the crew is still there.
White glove delivery and tipping
A white glove crew does more than drop a box. It carries each piece to the room you choose, assembles it, places it and takes every scrap of packaging away. That extra work is why the white glove range starts at $20 or more per person, and why a long assembly or a difficult carry is a good reason to go above it. A tip is still your decision.
